A whisper travels on the breeze, a tale spun from sugary lies and tangled truths. It speaks of a current, its waters glinting with the allure of intoxication. But within its depths lurks a darkness, a deceptive lure that promises glory at the cost of innocence. They say those who stumble in its current are forever consumed by the stream's grip, their lives forever corrupted into a bitter melody.
When the Tanks Burst
On January 15th, 1919, Boston witnessed a disaster unlike any other. A massive tank filled with syrup burst open in the city's North End, unleashing a wave of sticky sweetness that swept through the streets like a tsunami. The flood, soaring to 25 feet in some areas, was horrifying. Homes and businesses crumbled under the weight of the sticky goo.
The aftermath was heartbreaking. Twenty-one people lost their lives, and many more sustained wounds. The flood also caused a great deal of destruction to property, leaving a trail of sticky residue in its wake.
A Sticky Situation in Sticky Nightmare
